Technology Company Supports Voluntary Work of Charitable Organisation

Qualcomm Incorporated, (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer of advanced wireless technologies and data solutions, today announced the company has donated €74,000 (US$100,000) to the Krisen-Interventions-Team (KIT) in Munich. KIT offers emergency services to psychologically traumatised people after extreme events or experiences and is run by the German welfare organisation Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund RV Munich / Oberbayern e.V (ASB). KIT is mainly funded by donations, grants and funds from the ASB.

“Qualcomm's support is extremely helpful and we are pleased that our work is being recognised in this way. We thank Qualcomm for its commitment to the community and will ensure that the funds are used to help the people who need it the most,” commented Peter Zehentner, head of KIT. “With its donation, Qualcomm is supporting KIT's role as a part of Germany's Emergency Medical Services. We plan to use the funds for the project KITz, a new initiative designed to help and support psychologically traumatised children.”

“KIT is a very valuable institution that deserves our appreciation and support,” explained Siegmund M. Redl, senior director and Germany country manager, Qualcomm Europe. “Qualcomm is committed to supporting the communities in which it operates. With a growing presence in Europe, Qualcomm is pleased to support local initiatives.”

Qualcomm's corporate citizenship has been recognised by a number of awards including, “100 Best Corporate Citizens” by the Business Ethics Magazine, the “Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation in San Diego” award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the “Philanthropic Business of the Year Award” by San Diego Magazine, as well as the “U.S. Corporate Citizen Award” by the Corporate Citizen Group. Qualcomm's social responsibility inside the company is also reflected by this year's number eight ranking in FORTUNE Magazine's listing of “100 Best Companies To Work For in America.”
